Questions, answered
Can every PDF be repaired?
Most damage is to the file's index, which we can rebuild. If that isn't enough we rewrite the whole file with Ghostscript, which recovers the pages but may drop form fields and bookmarks. Content that is truly missing, such as a half-finished download, can't be brought back.
Does this count toward my daily limit?
Yes. This tool needs a real engine on our servers, so each file counts as one conversion toward your daily limit. You get a free allowance every day, with or without an account, and Pro and Business raise it a lot.
What happens to my file after it's processed?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, and returned to you straight away. We don’t keep a copy: temporary working files are deleted the moment the conversion finishes, and nothing is stored afterwards.
