Why does this run on a server?
Most browsers outside Safari can't read HEIC, so we decode it with a proper HEIF library. Each image becomes a page, stored as a high-quality JPEG and rotated the way your phone held it.
Does this count toward my daily limit?
Yes. This tool needs a real engine on our servers, so each file counts as one conversion toward your daily limit. You get a free allowance every day, with or without an account, and Pro and Business raise it a lot.
What happens to my file after it's processed?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, and returned to you straight away. We don’t keep a copy: temporary working files are deleted the moment the conversion finishes, and nothing is stored afterwards.
